As always...somewhat late!

Well there is major excitement, our new catalogues have been launched!

We have a brand new Idea Book & Catalogue absolutely brimming with lots of new products as well as many of our favourite old ones.  This catalogue will be current until the middle of next year and then we become in-line with the US, so all of you that enviously look at the US catalogue an wish we stocked it, well before too long we will and right now we pretty much have most of it!

We also launched the new Holiday Catalogue, this will be with us for 6 months and is exactly the same as the one in the US.  It covers Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Valentines day, so all in all thre are stacks ands tacks of yummy products.

Of course we have said goodbye to five or our In Colors but we have 5 new ones in their place and like is often the case it takes time to start using them but when you do you can;t help but fall in love!

If you are local and would like to pick up a New Catalogue pack the mail me and let me know (just $10!)

I have been busy trying to update my display board with cards made from current SU! stamp sets etc.  Time has been short so I have CASED a few cards.  I will post these before too long and give credit where credit is due!!

Happy Stamping :-)

I don't very often get to make girly cards so if there is even an inkling of an opprtunity I am there and I have to say this one is a bit of a strech...lol!

It's my ex-husbands partners daughter's 10th birthday today so I made her a card/present.  I don't have a lot to do with her but the boys obviously do and  of course our paths do cross at times so I thought it would be quite a nice gesture.

This is a card based on one I saw at a Stampin' Up! event made by another demonstrator.  I think it may even have been Bronwen Eastley many moons ago. Anyway, I saw it once and it has stayed in my head so I had a go today.  I didn't have a small pack of new coloured pencils, only a big pack so I had to 'up-size' the card to accommodate.

The idea is the from of the card is a mini colouring book and the inside contains coloured pencils to use to colour in the image - genius!!

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Pony Party

Inks: Black Stazon

Card: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White

Accessories: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizazz, Bashful Blue & Pumpkin Pie Markers, Corner Large & small star punces, triple heart punch, giant neutral brads, designer label punch,  3/4" and 1/2" circle punches

So despite all my best intentions I have been incredibly slack at keeping up-to-date with my blog but I promise I will try and change this.  My work hours have become more structured, I am trying to prioritise things and time for myself is one of those things that time needs to be found for!

The last three years have been an emotional turmoil, my marriage broke down and I have desperately been trying to hold thing together for the children whilst living on the other side of the world from my main support network - family.  We have got through though, the children have come good and are settling in to their new way of life, my ex and I have managed to build a positive relationship for the children's sake and it is soooo good for them, it saddens me so much when I see children used and manipulated for their parents gain, how can they truly love them?  I have moved on and found a fantastic man who makes me very happy (most of the time!) and most importantly the boys like him and respect him, my ex is in a new relationship with a lovely person who is working really hard to make a place for three boisterous boys in her world - no mean task if you are used to having just one child who is a girl!!!  There is still so much to sort out and a lot of things will change but we will survive!!!

A positive side to life is I am beginning to enjoy crafting again, there was a time when it became a chore, I only worked to prepare for classes and not for fun.

The card I am going to share with you today is one I put together for a class.  This class is one where we use punches either for their actual purpose and then some alternative uses.  This card uses the Christmas Ornament punch as a fish body.  I have seem many samples of this on the internet and this is my take on it!

I made two samples so those in the class could choose which one to make as not everyone wants kissing fish and love heart bubbles!!!

In the Circle Circus stamp set there is a 'bubble' looking stamp which was perfect for going round the edge of the card base, in the same colour ink as the card, to give a watery background.

Card Recipe.... Stamps: Circle Circus,  Inspired by Nature, Delightful Decorations Card: Marina Mist, Always Artichoke, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black Ink: Marina Mist, Always Artichoke Accessories: Polka Dot embossing folder, marina mist satin ribbon, Ornament Punch, 2-Step Owl Punch (for eyes and hearts), Five petal flower punch (for fins and tail)

Merry Christmas

Well this is the final card for today, I cased this idea off a card I saw on Bronwen's blog, I'm note sure who the original designer was other than it says 'Stampin Still' on the picture.  So all credit to them.  I didn't have the stamp sets they used so I just used the ones I had that I thought would work.  I love how it is just very tasteful!  This is what we will be doing at the next Christmas Club ladies!!!

Card Recipe....
Stamps: Baroque Motif, Snow Swirled, Welcome Christmas, Many Merry Messages.
Card: Soft Suede, Naturals Ivory
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: Basic Pearls, 1 3/8" Square Punch, Framed Tulips embossing folder.

Fun & Bright

I purchased this stamp set eons ago and didn't have an opportunity to assemble it so this was an ideal time to get stuck in, I was thinking of my boys when I made this as every sentiment on the spinner suits them!!  The game spinners are great fun, the boys keep coming up to the card and having a 'spin'!

Card recipe:
Stamps: Take a spin
Inks: Rea; Red
Card: Whisper White, Real Red, Daffodil Yellow, Island Indigo
Accessories: Game Spinners

Flutterby....

I have been meaning to make one of these little easel cards for the best part of a year, perhaps more.  They are the brain child of a very talented crater, Bronwen Eastley who amazes me constantly with her creative talents! They are very simple to make yet very effective.

Card Recipe:-
Card: Pink Priouette, Whisper White, Vellum Card
Inks: Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Finial Press embossing folder, Filigree Brads, Rhinestone Brads, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die.

My Next Little Project!

Using paper from the same pack of DSP, Paisley Petals, as I sued for the previous project I amde this box of cards.  This paper is brilliant, as well as being gorgeous it also coordinates with loads of Stampin' Up! card stock.  A lot of the colours it coordinates with are part of the Regals colour group so if you were just starting out you could purchase a mixed pack of the Regals and a pack of this DSP and you would be ready to start a number of projects!

I designed the box to hold the Stampin' Up! note cards, unfortunately I only made it deep enough to take 4 cards, if I was making it again I would increase it's depth to take 6 - 8 cards.  The box opens up like a match box.  The four cards are all the same just different colour ways, I have provided a little vellum envelope with a number of different sentiments so whomever I decide to give this box too can personalise the cards to their own requirements.

Project Recipe..
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Bravo Burgundy, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze, Whisper White
Inks: Bravo Burgundy, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze
Accessories : Paisley Petals DSP, Designer Label Punch, Full Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, Linen Thread, Word Window Punch.

Gotta love school holidays!

The boys have just commenced a three week school holiday, they are not as needy as they used to be but as the youngest are still just 7 and 11 they do need an adult to be around to feed them, deal with issues etc so it means I have more or less been left to my own devices in my craft room - a very rare event nowadays.  Every so often one or more of them will come and sit with me and chat which is lovely too.

So in the next few posts I will share some of my little projects!

This is a little gift bag made from Designer Series Paper, it was very simple to make and holds 8 little gift cards with envelopes.  The eight cards are all the same design but in 4 different colour ways and to add a little touch of style I used the DSP to cover the top flap of the envelopes, it makes them look very cute I think!  The buttons are 'hand made'!

Project Recipe...
Stamps: none!
Card: Cajun Craze, Marina Mist, Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Not Quite Navy
Inks: Cajun Craze, Marina Mist, Always Artichoke, Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Fancy Flower Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Linen Thread, Mini Square Envelopes, Paisley petals DSP.

Dinosaurs

The boys are back at school but when they are at school I have to work - booo, but as after school activities have not fully kicked in I get to spend some of my evenings doing my own stuff for a bit so I have had a bit of a play. These pictures are atrocious, I cannot find the charger for my camera so these are taken from my phone!

I ordered the Dinoroar set some time ago but have had no chance to use it. The pictures don't really show it up, but with the Watercolour Wonder crayons it has been easy to get strong, vivid colours that have blended really nicely. I let the colours I chose for colouring determine the colour of card I used. As they are predominantly for young children I kept them very plain and simple.
