Awards...

Well I have been terribly slack and have not posted about rewards that have been given to me.

I am always honoured to receive them but also am at a complete loss as to what to do with them. I know some people have a page for their awards or put them down one of their tool bars but I never really know what to do with them, so I shall add this post and refer back to it as and when (or indeed 'if') I get any more! I am not sure if it seems as if one is bragging but after much thought I believe not. So many other peoples' blogs inspire me and I am pleased that mine inspires some others too so it is not about bragging it is about Creating, Inspiring & Sharing!

Ok, so these are the ones I have been given relatively recently

1) From Ann Wills (Crafty Squirrel)

2) From Claire Harrison (Ink Inclinations)

3) From Alex Hau (Hau To Craft)

I believe the rules are pretty similar for them all, I need to give several other 'bloggers' these awards and let them know and I will link to their sites.

now as I have left it so long (I am so naughty!) I shall need to think whether to offer the same websites both types of award or go for different ones for each, you'll have to leave this with me for a while!

So I would like to thank Ann, Claire and Alex very much for thinking of me and I would like to apologise to them for being so darn slow at doing anything about them!

Paper Beads

I saw a video where someone was making paper beads and I thought what a fantastic addition these could make to cards, scrap book pages etc not to mention making jewellery.

I had some paper left over from my pack of Bali Breeze DSP and I love the colours from that so I set off to make some beads and I loved it. The first 3 I made I used to adorn this card.

Card Recipe..

Stamps: Eastern Blooms
Card Stock: Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Inks: Old Olive, Whisper White, Rose Red
Accessories : DSP beads!, gold brads, Three for You punch, Bali Breeze DSP

I then when in to a bead making frenzy and made a bracelet!

Bouncing Babies

I did see a card ages ago which had babies in a film strip, I can't remember who the creator was or where indeed the card is now so I have created this one and would like to thank to person who first gave me the idea, whoever you are!

Card Recipe..

Stamps: All in the Family, Short & Sweet
Card Stock: Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Whisper White
Inks: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue
Accessories : Aqua Painter, Oval Punches, Double Rectangle punch, Crystal Effects

Sneak Preview!

Ok so we are all watching the little thingy at the top of the blog, seeing how much longer we have to wait for the new Idea Book & Catalogue to come out. We are less than 3 weeks away now which is fantastic but we still want to see it NOW!

Well I received my demonstrator pre-order yesterday so over the next few days I shall give you a few sneak previews in to some of the new sets, colours, papers and accessories you will see in the new catalogue!

I shall also throw in a few creations from the current catalogues as I still like to dabble with those!

So today i shall share two cards I have made using two new sets of stamps.

The fist set is very gorgeous, it is called Bloom Away, and I am guessing this one will be unique to the Aussies and NZ'ers. It contains just 3 stamps but they are lovely and represent some native plants, Gum Blossoms, Banksia and Warratah. I chose to use the Banksia stamps for this card.

it did not turn out exactly how I envisaged it but it I still like it. I decided to go for a natural, earthy look to it so used two old favourites of Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke as the colour combination.

The card dimensions are 4' x 4" (10cm x 10cm) which is a lovely sized card to work with.

Card Recipe..

Stamps: Bloom Away
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Confetti Cream, Always Artichoke
Inks: Basic Brown
Accessories : Distressing tool, grosgrain, markers, word window punch, vintage brads

This next set is a fun set called Cheers for You, I decided to go bright and most the colours are from the Bold Brights with the addition of Taken with Teal. I went over each drink with Crystal Effects to give it a glassy appearance, although it makes taking a picture very hard.

Card Recipe..

Stamps: Cheers to you
Card Stock: Taken with Teal, Whisper White
Inks: Black Stazon
Accessories : Watercolour Wonder Crayons, Aqua painter, circle punches, crystal effects

Download the list of retiring products by catalogue page number

Keep checking here as the lists will be kept up-to-date with stock availability also to see which second hand retired sets I will have for sale at very good prices!

Newsflash... I can't be 100% sure on this but I have a feeling Classic ink Pads will increase from $9.95 each to $11.95 each and re-inkers will also increase in price so now is a good time to get those colours you really want!
