It has been great to be down the road from my mum again and round thee corner from all our friends. I have spent a lot of time catching up with everyone but also a lot of time getting on with the home improvements that need doing before we can rent our house out. I have ordered out kitchen from IKEA which arrives in a little over a week. We have quotes coming in for new windows so it is all systems go. I just need to organise shipping for all our copious amounts of stuff here!
I have created a few cards since being here but ahven;t had a chance to photo them - I will do that as soon as I can.
Anyway must go as I am on a mobile internet connection!

I made the decisions a few months back to hold a Stampin' Up! stall at this years Hobart Quilt and Craft Fair. It was a huge decision to make as it is a massive financial outlay but I am pleased to say that Claire, my colleague and friend, has agreed to join me so we can offer a team effort.
There is a fair amount of preparation involved, especially as I shall be overseas for the next 5+ weeks! I would love it if all those in Tasmania who read my blog would make a special effort to come and support us on the day. We only have a small stall but we all know the ebst things come in small packages!!
Derwent Entertainment Centre, Glenorchy
We shall be holding two classes a day which you can enrol in, one is watercolouring and the other is using punches and wheels. You need to book your spot at our stall in the morning (I believe the cost is around $6-$7 per class)
We will be demonstrating some of the products at the stall during the day and will gladly answer anyone's questions. there will be various show specials available, one of which is the Stampin' Up! Show Bag!
You will get all sort of exciting goodies in the bag which will only cost you $12, I can tell you already there will be a new Idea Book & Catalogue in there which usually retails at $13-95 by itself + %5 shipping and handling - it HAS to be a bargain!!! There are only limited numbers each day so it is definitely first come first served.
It is a great day out, so much to see and do, bring a packed lunch or buy lunch there. There is an eftpost facility over the counter there I believe and some of the bigger stalls will take cards, many operate on a cash only basis .
We CAN take debit and credit cards which are VISA or MASTERCARD for any orders taken on the day but we cannot process cards for any of the extras, classes, pre-made cards, card packs etc, they will have to be cash only.
This months' offer from Stampin' Up! is if you purchase $35 of product from the current catalogue you have the option to purchase a sample pad of Designer Series Paper.
During the month of May, spend $35 on any Stampin' Up! products, and get a 6" x 6" pad of double-sided Prints Designer Series paper for only $12.95!
This gives you 48 double-sided sheets in
- Certainly Celery
- Rose Red
- So Saffron*
- Almost Amethyst*
Each pad holds twelve sheets of each colour--two sheets of each pattern in each colour--that can be used for cards, crafts, or scrapbooking!
*These colours of Prints Designers Series paper are not offered in the 2008-2009 Idea Book & Catalogue, and can only be purchased through this special offer!

It was definitely and experience and one we learnt from! We had 11 in the morning session and 9 in the afternoon one so that meant we had to prepare 20 packs of stuff, that is 240 cards to pre cut!!!
We started the morning session session at 10am and by 11am we realised that we had underestimated on the timing, rather than taking two hours it was going to take at least three. So it meant the first group was put under a lot of pressure to finish up and move to the next station so we felt awful about that. the last thing we want is for people to feel under pressure.
As there was no group coming in after the afternoon session they had more time to finish off so I definitely think next time we will alter the timings to make it more comfortable for everyone. So for all those in the first group I am incredibly sorry that you were so rushed!
I should have taken photos of the cards people made but I was too busy, there are some pictures of people on the day is I shall post those later today.

I have now packed the boys' clothes, that has taken ages as I haven't sorted their clothes for ages and there was a lot to sift through. It has just taken me a couple of hours to get all our youngest boy's clothes out, see what fits, what doesn't fit, what is too big, what can be given away etc. I could not wash his clothes for quite a few months before he would run out - it is absurd!
Needless to say I have not had much opportunity this week to make any cards, I have cleaned up my office area a little, but that is about it. I shall be creating some things over in the UK, my mum is lending me some of her UK SU! stuff so hopefully will be able to keep on posting over there!
Please keep popping in and to my existing customers and any potential ones, please remember I can still process orders for you even though I am on the other side of the world. Contact me if you would like to order anything or simply ask me about any SU! products.

Well that is the day I had today, things started going wrong about 5 minutes after my husband left for work, taking one of the boys with him to drop off at the school on the way. Five minutes later he as back, he had a flat tyre so decided to take my car. To say I was a little displeased at being left with a car with a flat tyre, a 3 yr old crying as he wouldn't be able to go to his swimming lesson, no way to pick another son up from school and take him to his doctor's appointment, is perhaps an understatement!
So there I was at 8.30 this morning changing the tyre on the car, I was so relieved to find that his wreck does indeed have a jack, a handle to use with it and a tyre iron and actually the whole process went rather well (I was so relieved as we have builders over the road and I soo didn't want (sorry just had to stop to deal with a nosebleed - not mine!) to look like a dizzy blond. My dear husband then rocked up, feeling somewhat guilty to have left me stranded but was jubilant to see me finishing off the wheel and covered in gunk. He even said he would keep my car and I could take his and get the tyre repaired - how lucky was I?! So off he trundled to work, I went and had a shower only to get a phone call from him explaining that the car had no petrol and was in fact below empty but he was pretty sure I would get to a petrol station (he was laughing so much he could barely make himself understood)- men!!!!
Needless to say I handled it all, the tyre was fixed and replaced, the car was filled with petrol, we got the swimming lesson, we got to the doctors and I even did a couple of other things...but I made him buy us a take-a-way dinner as I had no time to shop for food today and it was his fault!
He is now out with a work colleague and I am left with the kids - again - so I have decided not to put them to bed and come and play with my cards instead. I need to keep busy as my eldest son is on sch0ool camp and I hate the house when one of the is not here, I almost wish I had given him a mobile so I could keep in touch but that does go against all my beliefs about young children and gadgets!
Anyway, here is a card I made this evening. I actually used the On Board 'stuff' for the first time ever. I inked the flower up with Purely Pomegranate but because of the colour of the board it actually looked like Bravo Burgundy so i went with that! Using the two way pen I added some Dazzling Diamond glitter, let it dry, covered it with Versamark, and then embossed it a few times with clear embossing powder. I then kind of evolved a card from that starting point and came up with this. there is something lacking from it, I can't decide what yet but hopefully it will come to me, if not then perhaps one of you can make a suggestion! ( I desperately tried to add leaves to the flower using the oval punches and Mellow Moss but it was a most definite 'no go', I punched the five pointed star out in MM too and put it under but that looked naff too so I just decided to leave it and move on!
