Car Boot Sale...

In a moment of weakness I agreed to have a stall at my boys' school car boot sale.  The forecast is thunderstorms so I am not expecting a huge turnout and of those that do make it I am not sure how many people are interested in buying any of my old card stock, inks pads, stamp sets etc but as I have just taken possession of a few new bits and pieces which I borrowed the money to purchase so now I need to get the money back!!

So this afternoon has been spent sorting through, pricing up, folding ribbon etc, hopefully I'll at least cover my stall costs!

Friday, 20 January 2017

I have lost count with the number of times I have apologised for not posting, the last few years have been a whirl wind of changes, some good, some not so good.  I have had to focus a lot of energy on my family to keep them buoyant and at the same time re-enter the workforce, help renovate and extend our home, cope with lost and found pets, new pets, sick pets, sick humans etc a - it feels like at times my feet never touch the floor!

Now the new catalogue has been out for some months but more recently we've had our new Occasions Catalogue released, it went live on 4th January and at the same time our Sale-a-Bration Catalogue which gives you access to free stuff!  (this one is only available until the end of March so be quick!)  I will update the links on the side bar.

I have spent a few days over the summer in my craft room, it is a rare experience nowadays but I find it so peaceful and relaxing, I really should do it more!  Despite making cards I am shocking at sending them. especially as my family are all over seas and by the time I remember it is their birthday it is too late for me to send one plus I don;t find post offices and post boxes as accessible here as I did back home! So over the last couple of visits to my craft room I have been making cards for my family writing them, putting them in envelopes with a reminder as to when to post them!!

Here are a couple I have made that I haven't CASED. I will edit them and add materials soon.

As always seems to be the case now I never get to update my blog, it is pretty much dormant.  Currently I am juggling three jobs, single mum to three plus all the pets and renovating and extending a home with my partner so for the foreseeable future I am pretty much busy!

Having said that my craft studio is almost complete, it has a small kitchenette and a bathroom so I can hold classes here without affecting the whole family. I had a bit of a wallpaper nightmare but if you squint and hold your head sideways and try hard not to focus I think I can get away with it!!

I have a wish list (one of many) of furniture I would like so I can store things away neatly and have a really amazingly organised space but finances dictate otherwise.

I have had a break from running classes for the last couple of months, the boys' hockey, futsal, soccer, AFL etc has been taking so much of my time I haven't been able to run them and I needed to cut myself some slack.  However, the new catalogue is out and I am starting to feel a little more inspired so at some point I will get something up and running.

Unbelievable eh?  Yet more cards.  These first two cards are based on cards I have seen on the internet.  This first one was by Penny Ginnery and the second one I don't know who it was but thank you for the inspiration any way :)

These  next two are all my own design, I really like the fist one, not sure on the second one.  I was playing with inking up one of the paper doilies to be the colour I wanted and thought I may as well try and use it as a stencil too.It came out OK-ish so I had a go making a card using it!

Believe it or not, today I have actually managed to create something!  I was playing with one of the new stamp sets in the current IB&C, Mosaic Madness along with the coordinating embossing folder and punch!

This first one is trying to feel summary as today is cold and cloudy!  I have used two new colours and one of our old In Colors which has now become one of our regulars.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Mosaic Madness

Inks: Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana

Card: Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Whisper White

Accessories: Basic Jewels, Modern Masaic Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Mosaic Punch,
Stampin' Dimensionals.

The second card is a Christmas card using the same stamp set and punch.  Once a month I host a Christmas Club here at my home but with the new catalogue I have found that all the Christmas sets I had have been retired so I cannot use them for classes.  What it means is I have to be creative and work with what I ahve got until our seasonal catalogue comes out.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Mosaic Madness, Sassy Salutations

Inks: Brown Sugar, Raspberry Ripple, Old Olive

Card: Very Vanilla, Brown Sugar, Raspberry Ripple

Accessories: Basic Pearls, Mosaic & Decorative Label Punch, Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta, Soft Suede 3/8" Taffeta and Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbons. Stampin' Dimensionals.
